European cityscape at dusk

Europe

Thirty-something countries worth slowing down for. Rail passes, city itineraries, coastal roads and the small towns that make the long journey worth it.

Europe

Which part of Europe?

Paris France Eiffel Tower

Western Europe

France, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands. The classic circuit, done properly and without the clichés.

Tuscany Italy countryside

Mediterranean

Italy, Greece, Croatia, southern Spain. The light, the food, the way time slows down by the water.

Prague Central Europe

Central Europe

Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Kraków. Four of the most underrated city-break destinations on the continent.

Scandinavia Norway fjords

Scandinavia

Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland. Worth every extra mile of planning. And every króna.

Travelling smarter in Europe

Rail vs. flights. For journeys under 5 hours, trains are almost always more enjoyable and often cheaper when booked ahead. Door-to-door, they're frequently faster too.

Interrail & Eurail. If you're doing 4+ countries, a rail pass works out cheaper and gives you flexibility. Book seat reservations separately on high-speed routes.

Shoulder season is the secret. May–June and September–October offer better weather than July–August, and noticeably fewer crowds at every major site.

One bag is enough. Cobblestones, no lifts, narrow train corridors — Europe rewards the traveller who packs light. Budget 10 days from a carry-on.
